Residencies

Because PSQT is artists led, we understand the needs of other artists and architects who want to move forward in their work, develop new directions and new platforms.   In providing both physical and intellectual space for the development of ideas we support experimental processes and interdisciplinary connections that can draw from PSQT’s rich resource of skills expertise and innovation – experiencing working with materials within a landscape and environmental context.

We  are part of a global micro-residencies movement headed by Youkobo ARTSPACE in Japan – an  international movement of organizations that provide spaces that exist solely for the support of autonomous activities of the artist in a new creative environment.

We also have established connections with The Artists Village (TAV) Singapore, through the British Council International Initiatives- ‘Civilization and Landscape project’  Salas Asturias, Northern Spain through EU Leader and Seacourt Print Workshop, Ireland with PSQT ‘Stone Is Land’ Inspire Mark-London 2012 Artists Residency programme.

The Drill Hall Gallery research & project space has onsite accommodation with facilities for working with a range of materials and audio visual media including performance using sound and projection.  There is also a new exhibition area and well equipped  Stone Workspace  with ceramics Kiln .  The building is connected via a recently renovated tunnel to Tout Quarry Sculpture Park and Nature Reserve where work can also be developed – with the Quarry environment linking to the Gallery space .
