Artist Residency Programme with Workshops Schedule below

Staff from Armagh Plenetarium have worked in partnership with artists from Seacourt Print Workshop to explore Deep Time through the extensive fossil records at the Portland Sculpture & Quarry Trust Community Stone Workspace.

From Monday 13th to Wednesday 15th of August visitors can learn about the science of Deep Time from the Planetarium’s Director, Tom Mason.Visitors can also observe and interact with the artists as they explore the site to find inspiration for their artworks. This is a unique opportunity to experience at first hand the creative process. |

Through their exploration and experimentation the artists will devise printmaking and sculpture workshops that will give an insight into how the fossil records were formed.The workshops are suitable for young people and adults (10 yrs upwards).
Old clothes are advisable. |

A talk on this project will be given on Thursday 16th at 7.30pm by Armagh Planetarium Director, Tom Mason and the participating artists from Seacourt Print Workshop.Armagh Planetarium is a world-renowned astronomical educational establishment based in Northern Ireland.
Seacourt Print Workshop is an internationally recognised fine-art printmaking resource that focuses on professional development, education and research into safer print processes. |
